AFI Award Best Actress Nominee

Last week my lovely friend (and amazing actress - AFI Award Best Actress Nominee) Veronia contacted me to do her makeup for an article in the Arts section of the Sydney Morning Herald (it was in print today).

It's a great feeling when your work is published in a newspaper - whether it's in New York or Sydney!

But it's a beautiful feeling when my friends trust me and my brushes!

Olympic Swimming Gold Medallist Libby Trickett

Yesterday I did Olympic Swimming Gold Medallist Libby Trickett's makeup for a shoot promoting grapes which will appeared in todays (11 Nov 09) Daily Telegraph.

The article can be viewed here online or on page 11 of the newspaper.

Libby is the ambassador for Australia's grape industry. Yummy!

She is such a nice girl, and although it was a short shoot, we had lots of fun!

Melissa Neville (Chop Shop Potts Point / freelance) did Libby's hair.

Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival

I have had the best and busiest week at the Fashion Festival at Martin Place in Sydney.

I was booked to do make-up every day for the Perrier "waitresses" who served Perrier backstage of the runway and at the MLC VIP Bar...gorgeous girls, we had so much fun each night!

On Wednesday, my gorgeous girlfriend and Fashion Stylist to the stars, Leena Thompson and I attended Samantha Wills Designer Luncheon (jewellery designer) at the Gazebo ...amazing jewellery, amazing girl...check out her website www.samanthawills.com.au.

There were approximatley 80 exclusive guests, including Sami Lucas, Zoe Naylor, Faye Delanty, Lizzy Lovette, Troy Thompson and Dancing with the Stars choreographer Nacho Pop.

Gia Carides (Austin Powers, Strictly Ballroom, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, - and the brilliant Anthony LaPaglia's wife) and Zoe Carides (All Saints, Brilliant Lies, Grass Roots) and were so much fun to work with.

The shoot took place at the COFA (UNSW College of Fine Arts) photographic studios for photographer Luke Stambouliah's upcoming exhibition.

With Luke's creative direction, me and my team (Melissa Neville of Chop Shop, Potts Point on hair, and Maree Spagnol assiting me with make-up) we were to give the girls glamour makeup but their hair was to be wet and shaggy and their bodies wet and muddy.

Everything came together beautifully and we had such a fab evening! Luke's wonderful mother made the most amazing sandwiches - "so what" you say?! It's a very big deal to get fed, and fed well, on a 6 hour shoot!
