What's been happening My career has moved forward faster than expected! During the week I'm working on music videos, fashion shoots, celebrity media appearances and giving makeup lessons... In the past year I have worked with loads of celebrities and companies such as Bird Motel, Perrier, Sony Music, Universal Music and been a part of talented creative teams. My favourite shoot in the past year was photographer Luke Stambouliah's image of Gia Carides & Zoe Carides (above). My work has been published in the Sydney Morning Herald, Daily & Sunday Telegraph, New York Times and Grazia magazine, to name a few. In May I was solo makeup artist for a short film 'Not Even A Mouse' written & directed by Zoe Carides, starring Dan Wyllie and Dan Krige. I have just finished a working on an exhibition with photographer Luke Stambouliah, which will be hosted at the Carriage Works in November 2010. Teaming up with my favourite hairstylist Melissa Neville, we worked with Susie Porter, Umbilical Brothers, Tony Llewellyn-Jones, Anna Lise Phillips, Steve Rodgers, Damon Gameau, Genevieve Mooy, Zoe Carides, Nicole de Silva and Rhys Muldoon. Last month I was filmed for the Pilot of a possible television show on one of the Foxtel lifestyle channels. The show is a reality type show about internet dating and I was bought in as the 'makeup/grooming' expert. I don't have word yet on how it went, but I do know my 'performance' was full of jitters and fidgeting! I'm not used to being on the other side of the camera!
Weddings I am still making up Brides on weekends, which I love. I work with approximately 10 Brides per month; winter has been a little quiet but full of trials; come August I am almost booked out until April 2011.
Where I'm headed I'm now working as a team with hairstylist Melissa Neville to acquire more celebrity clients, particularly for media appearances and red carpet. This Thursday we are working together with Melinda Schneider who is currently on Dancing With The Stars and our work will be featured in footage for the show! Next month we are making a team of Rugby League stars dirty and sweaty for a big shoot...ah the perks!
With thanks Thank you to all my past, present and future clients who have sent me lovely testimonials & photographs and have referred friends, family and colleagues to me. Big kisses to my regular clients who I see weekly (sometimes 3 times) and often travel from out of Sydney to be made up by me! Special thanks to Melissa Neville & Luke Stambouliah, Zoe Carides and the lovely Bec at Universal Music for believing in Mel and I!
