Congratulations Fee + David who married at the Fiji Intercontinental Golf Resort + Spa on Thursday!

Fee first contacted me in March to ask if I would be free to travel to Fiji. She was recommended to me by her sister-in-law Michelle, whose wedding I worked on in February (click here to see Michelle's wedding makeup photoblog). We didn't meet. We didn't even have a trial. Fee + David put all their trust in flying me to their destination wedding. We finally met on my first night in Fiji, at the Hilton Denarau's beachside bar...over far too many Pina Colada's!

This was my 3rd trip to Fiji in the past year. It is my second home these days, so I have a good understanding of how makeup and hair works in very hot, humid conditions.

A few days later, after some relaxation at the Hilton, I made my way down to the Intercontinental on the Coral Coast. I have either stayed or visited almost every resort along the coast and the Intercontinental definitely has the best beach - Natadola. It also has a lovely glass chapel, which faces west towards the horizon...perfect for a Fijian sunset weddingAfter a couple of days of (more) relaxation, and drinks with Fee + David's friends, their wedding day arrived!

With a morning swim, breakfast and 3 showers later (it was so hot), I made my way up to their huge hilltop condo.  Their wedding day preparations were the most relaxed, easygoing preps I have ever worked at. Fee had hired a local boy Ash Phanuef and his team to do the girls hair. They did a wonderful job and were fun to work with. The star of her team was definitely her photographer; one of my favourites and one I have worked with before - Jonas Peterson. He flew in from Brisbane and it was his first trip to Fiji. 2 more great guys, Bruce and Damo from ZoomFiji Photography captured everything on video.

After a 4pm ceremony in the glass chapel, and 5pm sunset cocktails + canapés on the lawn outside Navo Restaurant we sat down for a beautiful 3 course dinner!

By 6pm Fee and her Bridesmaids makeup still looked beautiful - I didn't have to touch-up a thing. Skin was perfect, eye makeup was perfect! The humidity was a challenge but I won! Fee was very hot though, so I braided her hair in to an up style for the rest of the night to get it off her neck.

It really was a beautiful evening. I was honoured to be Fee's Fiji Wedding Makeup Artist and humbled to be invited as a guest to her wedding. Fee + David will be honeymooning in the USA and Bora Bora.

Bula Vinaka Fee + David. I loved our time together and I wish you both so much 'loloma' for the rest of your lives.
